Air feel ribbon jsk arrived and a few words about Celga

A couple of weeks ago I told you about my Celga box that arrived and was missing an item.
The item that was missing was this:
Angelic Pretty's Air feel ribbon jsk from 2006.

I love the look of this dress, it's so summery and its a lot like a dress I made for myself a few years ago, that I've worn to death!

So about Celga:
Now I have to say this mix up wasn't entirely they're fault. Yes, I did specifically ask them to include this item when I requested shipping, but in all fairness to them, it had been sitting in their warehouse for nearly two years. Why two years? Well I bought the dress, then my housemate started WW3, then I moved house (as you do when your housemate starts WW3), then I found out I was pregnant, then I got sick because I was pregnant, then I had a baby...and having a baby is hard work man! So yeah, a LOT of stuff happened in my personal life which left this dress forgotten way down on my list of priorities, poor thing! So, you can hardly blame them for forgetting about it.

Anyway, here's how they handled it:
-I messaged them about it being left out and asked if they still had it, etc.
-Later that day they told me they'd package it up that afternoon.
-They invoiced me with the shipping total of $39USD.
I have to say, I was not impressed with having to pay so much extra for my item, especially when I felt like it was entirely their fault at this point. So I sent them a slightly snarky message back (probably more snarky than it needed to be =/), saying I wasn't impressed at having to pay out so much extra for their mistake. Celga sent a message back pretty quickly saying that I could just pay $17 as that's what it would have cost to ship it with my other items. I paid the amended invoice they sent me and the dress arrived a few days later, which was BRILLIANT!

I think Celga dealt with it amazingly well and I'd probably still use them to buy more items. Though I definitely won't ever leave my items in their warehouse for that long again, not that I ever intended to in the first place >.<

As for the dress, I adore it! It's completely beautiful and fits like a dream! Of course it arrived completely crinkled, but I expected that since the auction photos showed it crinkled and it has been in storage for 2 years, so I think I can deal with giving it a good iron, just really pleased it's here! =)

My Celga box arrived - Wonder Party set and more!

I love looking at haul posts, so I thought I'd show off my most recent haul!

A couple of weeks ago a box came in from Celga. Gotta be honest, I'm pretty terrible at requesting the shipping on my items, so they tend to build up in their warehouse =/ I feel bad for them having to have a customer like me! But I put it down to my mild fear of customs fees! I use Celga to buy off of auction sites like Yahoo! Japan and Mbok, and have used them in the past to buy from brand sites that don't ship internationally.

So anyway, enough of my jibbering and onto the pretties:

First off, Angelic Pretty's Wonder Party special set jumperskirt in sax. This came as part of a lucky pack style set they sold back in 2010, it originally came with socks and a headbow, but they weren't included in the auction. I love the little collar, and the buttons on this dress are easily the cutest buttons I've ever seen on an AP dress.

So I bought some matching accessories to go with it. The socks and headbow I bought are not the same as the ones that were included in the original set, but I don't mind because I like these better anyway. I also got a matching coffee pot ring =D
All the accessories are original AP. Everyone who has the Wonder Party headbow says this and I never understood until now why, but the little gold fork and spoon charms are just THE cutest damn things!

The older Baby, the Stars Shine Bright prints are some of the best prints in Lolita to me. I got Mary in the Sky with Candies, which I used to have the OP of, but sold because of the front shirring not suiting me, its defintely a favorite print of mine, its adorable! Then there's the beautiful Thumbelina print jsk from way back in 2004. Did I mention how beautiful it is? Seriously, I'm tempted to get some of this print tattooed it's that pretty! This one's also I present from my Jams, when it came up I BEGGED him for it for my 21st way back in last July (I said I was bad at requesting shipping!), so it's just that little bit more special to me! I also got an Innocent World blouse, which I actually managed to forget about since it was part of the Mary listing. It'll look really nice under a jsk, but I hate hate hate detachable sleeves with a burning passion, so they'll probably get buried at the back of my wardrobe somewhere.

And finally, I got some parkas and a bolero, since I'm seriously lacking in that department. I've been ogling Metamorphose's Wonder Card / Card playing Kitties print for a while now and decided to get the parka before comitting to a whole dress in the print, especially since the hood is lined in some of the print. Possibly a big mistake, since I am now in desperate need of the OP in blue! The parka is really cute though, it has little cat ears and a subtle cat screen print on the back, not sure how versatile it is since the colour is a little strange. And I got AP's Sugary Carnival parka in pink to match my skirt in Lavender, this one's from their original release. Love the lace trim and pink crystal star zipper pull! Lastly, is the bolero from Baby, it has a little bit of cute flower embroidery on it, but again is those dreaded detachable sleeves! Eh, they aren't that bad, they actually fit my arm properly (though a little short!), so they may get an outing when its particularly chilly!

So yeah, that was everything that was in the box...BUT WAIT! There's a dress missing...so I got onto Celga about it... D=

Goldfrapp gig

The Goldfrapp gig was AMAZING! I loved every second! The song "Little bird" particularly sticks in my head as the lights accompanying were a rainbow and the way they shone through the haze over the crowd was immemse, it gave a real summery feel, a perfect reflection of the song. She played a fair amount of tracks from her debut album "Felt mountain" which I suppose is the album most like "Tales of Us", including "Utopia" as part of the encore, again using the rainbow lighting effect, but this time in more subtle pastels, incredibly beautiful!

I'm so so so happy I got to see her on this tour, as I've been waiting around a decade to see her live, since I've always managed to miss out on hearing about her tours or never quite had enough money for tickets (excuses, excuses!). So this show meant an awful lot to me! ♥

This is the outfit shot from the gig. I quite like the way it turned out, it would have looked better with a fuller petti under it, but since it was a gig, I decided my softer petti was better suited.

I also can't help but wonder if my red hoody would have worked better instead of the knit bolero due to the more casual touches in this outfit such as the acrylic headband instead of headbow and jersey cutsew rather than crisp blouse. What do you think?

Co ord for Goldfrapp gig!

Have finally decided on which outfit to wear to see Goldfrapp tonight!

I did have a couple of options lined up including my Vivienne Westwood corset, black petti skirt and chunky black heels covered in tiny gold stars, but after trying my corset on again decided it probably wasn't comfortable enough for a gig. Or there was a design I tried to make myself consisting of a black short sleeved dress and soft tulle overskirt covered in applique satin butterflies, but after finishing up the dress and trying the (unembellished) overskirt on with it, I decided the two different skirt shapes just didn't quite work together and there wasn't really enough time to change any of it.

So I decided to opt for my Sweet Jam. James (my fiancee) bought me the Goldfrapp tickets for our four year anniversary back in February, and since I often refer to him as "my Jams", I thought Sweet Jam was rather fitting for our anniversary outing! ♥

Rundown:
Skirt and socks: Sweet Jam by Angelic Pretty (though skirt is altered from the sundress)
Shoes: Angelic Pretty tea parties
Handbag: Vivienne Westwood
Cutsew: Infanta
Bolero: Offbrand

Accessories close up
All are Angelic Pretty except the bow ring which is from Accessorize (and a present from James!)

So excited for the gig now!♥

Hihi!

Blogging seems cool. Yeah, let's try blogging =)

Let's see if I can keep this up! I'll probably blog about Japanese fashions such as Lolita and Fairy Kei (but mostly Lolita!), sewing and crafts, fashion meet ups, shopping, events and outfits. But I won't consciously limit myself to those subjects or I'll procrastinate and get nothong done at all, haha!
